Homelessness and Young People Participation
Pembrokeshire Care Society’s project – Homelessness and Young People Participation Project, will focus upon two key areas:
- Engaging with and empowering young people that are currently using or have used the homelessness services and related support services to look at service improvements and design
- Engaging with young people who would benefit but do not access our services to find out why this is and where improvements can be made.
The long term aim of the project is to develop a Peer Mentoring Group whereby we will recruit and train a group of young people who have experienced or have an interest in homelessness, increasing their sense of self-esteem, confidence and knowledge. They will go into secondary schools and other youth groups to deliver presentations and workshops which focus on preventative education on homelessness, based on direct personal experiences.
