What is Planning Together?

Planning Together is a project that Disability Wales and Vision in Wales are leading, together with PAVS and other organisations involved in ‘Stronger Communities, Better Services’.

Planning Together will provide  a personalised training programme to support disabled people to increase their influence on how services are designed and delivered in Pembrokeshire. This will help to improve the quality of services and aims to achieve better outcomes for people who live or work in the county.

The training and support will help people who would like to:

  • Build confidence
  • Learn new skills
  • Gain knowledge
  • Have a voice
  • Make a difference

If this sounds like hard work, don’t worry – we learn best when we’re enjoying ourselves so Planning Together is also about:

  • Having fun!

What’s happening?

We launched the project in November 2013 at an event in Saundersfoot which we organised in partnership with Crossroads Care, who are running the Carers’ Voice project.

We are presently talking to different groups about how Planning Together might work alongside them to support achievement of their own aims and objectives, as well as our own.

We are starting to plan a public event which will take place later in spring 2014. This will be a great opportunity to find out more about the project, and about what else is going on for disabled people in the county.
